NEW LORD MAYOR: OLD STATE COACH

LONDON, UK - NOVEMBER 10: Having just sworn his allegiance to the Crown, the new (680th) Lord Mayor of London, David Lewis, an eminent lawyer and City businessman, completes the final part of the procession in the sumptuous, baroque State Coach. This traditional "Carriage and Four" has transported the Lord Mayor in every show since 1777. Back then, it cost a mere £120.000. Now, it is estimated, the cost of building such an ostentatious vehicle would be in excess of £2 million. Way to go.
