Must admit, it’s been a long time coming - but we’ve finally given the Scoopt site a complete overhaul! The changes are very much in line with what you’ve been asking for. For example:
- You can now upload photo files of up to 5 MB rather than 1 MB.
- You can upload up to five files at a time. When you have several photos of the same event, we recommend that you pick the best five rather than uploading hundreds :)
- It’s now much easier to caption your photos when you upload them. You can also copy and paste a caption from one photo to another, which makes life easier.
- For the first time, Scoopt will be publishing photos that make our editorial cut in picture galleries on the site. These galleries are there both to attract buyers and, importantly, to show you that we are actively marketing your pictures. Before, you’ve just had to trust that we were working hard behind the scenes. Now, you can see what we’re doing.
- Photos that don’t make the cut will be (politely) rejected. You can track progress in the Dashboard in the member area of the site.
- The very best photos will also be published in the Getty Images site (click here).
- You can now comment on all photos in the galleries and we encourage you to do so. We get asked all the time about what kind of photos we're looking for (those that we can sell, basically!) and we reckon that the easiest way to answer is to discuss photos that make the cut and, occasionally, those that don’t. We’ll endeavour to respond to all comments.
- The hotline is now manned 24 hours a day. For genuine breaking news stories only, please! You can contact the team at any time by emailing contact@scoopt.com.
Please note that we no longer accept submissions by email or MMS except in a genuine emergency. It is really important that you caption your photos properly and the only way to do this is by uploading them through the members’ area of the site.
If you are already a Scoopt member and you agreed to our new Terms and Conditions, you should be able to log in to this new site using your old email address and password. If not, please join Scoopt again. It’s free, it takes seconds, and it could make you rich next time you find yourself in the right place at the right time to snap, send, sell.
PS The Scoopt blog will be up and running soon so you can tell us what you love, hate and want us to do
